1986 - EPTEC was born...
EPTEC (Energi & Pumpe TEChnic) was founded in February of this year by Steinar Nord, Geir I. Pedersen, Frederik Gresvik and Ole Nygård. All of them came from the same engineering company, Witt & Borgen AS. The main objective for the company was engineering, sales and service within two main areas, namely refrigeration and pump technology, with the ship and land based industries as well as process pumps for the oil and gas industry as market segments. Leading European manufacturers were chosen as partners: CIAT for refrigerant and air conditioning products, and STORK, PCM and Pleuger for rotating pump products.
1993 – Acquisition of AS Ingolf Larsen, establishment of new companies
A larger engagement of sales and service within the refrigeration industry was required, so AS Ingolf Larsen was acquired and became the EPTEC branch office in Moss with, amongst others, Jan Opperud and Ulf Larsen as key persons. Later this year, EPTEC - Energi & Pumpe Technic AS the owners establish three new companies: EPTEC Pumper AS with supplying process pumps for the offshore industry as its main goal; EPTEC Energi AS (Moss and Greåker) and EPTEC Nord AS (Trondheim) both with air-conditioning/refrigeration as well as pumps for the marine and land based industries as primary goals.
1993 – Establishment of EPTEC Eiendom AS
The parent company purchased the property at Klevberget 4 in Moss, and EPTEC Eiendom AS was established. A few years later Sarpsborg Mekaniske Verksted in Greåker was purchased with a portfolio of office letting. Later EPTEC Eiendom AS expanded to include Årvoldskogen 79 AS in Moss and Stamhuset AS in Stamveien 7 at Gjelleråsen Næringspark, just outside of Oslo.
1994 - Establishment of EPTEC Process AS
This company saw the daylight in 1994 and was established to cover various development projects in the Group, e.g. TUPE unloading plant for “mazut” (Russian heavy oil) intended for refineries and shipment ports of this oil. Later on, a new business area was established for high pressure air-/gas compression led by Gunnar Halstvedt. This business unit was later extended to cover the sales and production of nitrogen generators as well as turn-key upgrading plant for producing methane gas for vehicles.
1997 – Establishment of EPTEC AS
The pump division in the EPTEC Group was separated from the various companies this year and a new company, EPTEC AS was established as an operative company under the umbrella of the parent company, with engineering, sales and service of process pumps to the expanding oil and gas industry, ship and land based industries as their main activities. The company developed gradually to become an important player as a supplier to the offshore industry. An important integration is made by taking up Dutch produced EPTEC pumps under their own brand name.
2000 - EPTEC Energi AS and EPTEC Nord AS merge
At the end of 2000 the two companies working within the refrigeration industry in the EPTEC Group merge together to make one company, EPTEC Energi AS, with offices in Moss, Oslo and Trondheim.
2001 - EPTEC Energi AS and LK Energiteknikk merge
In order to increase the activity in the Oslo area, regarding sales and service of air conditioning equipment, a new merger took place between EPTEC Energi AS and LK Energiteknikk AS, being a substantial player in this region. With the previous owners of LK - Finn Landberg, Helge Kracht and their service team, all this together contributed to a reinforced sales and service team at the EPTEC Energi Oslo office.
2004 - EPTEC AS is sold - and a change of names
EPTEC AS (the pump division of the EPTEC Group) is sold in December of this year to Bjørge ASA. In a transition period Bjørge will use EPTEC AS and the brand name EPTEC which later goes back to the EPTEC Group. Today this company is known as Bjørge AS - Rotating Equipment Solutions. As a consequence of this sale of the pump division, the parent company has a change of name from EPTEC - Energi & Pumpe Technic AS to EPTEC - Energy & Process Technic AS.
2008 - EPTEC companies merge
EPTEC Eiendom AS with all assets is being sold and the sister companies EPTEC Energy & Process Technic AS and EPTEC Energi AS with its three departments merge together.
2009 - Establishment of EPTEC-Norild AS
May1st 2009 EPTEC Energi AS and Norild AS established a new company in Trondheim. The new company is owned by even parts of the mentioned companies, thereof the name EPTEC-Norild AS. The management of the new company does also have an ownership in EPTEC-Norild AS. The new company represents a solid and important focus on the middle/north part of Norway. The whole Trondheim department of EPTEC Energi AS entered EPTEC-Norild AS.
2010 - EPTEC-Norild AS becomes EPTEC Kuldeteknikk AS
Autumn of 2010 EPTEC Energi AS aquired the shares of Norild AS from their common daugther company. As a consequence, the company changed name to EPTEC Kuldeteknikk AS.
Today the EPTEC Group consists of the parent company, EPTEC - Energy & Process Technic AS with its daughter companies EPTEC Energi AS and EPTEC Kuldeteknikk AS.
