EPTEC have secured a contract of more than 25 MNOK for a delivery of two modules for a MEG Regeneration Plant to the GORGON Project. Gorgon is one of the worlds largest LNG Plant located on Barrow Island outside the West Coast of Australia with Chevron as operator.
The MEG Regeneration Plant itself, which mainly supplies stabilization liquid for the LNG Process, is delivered by APS (Aker Solution Group) while EPTEC is the supplier of two cooling modules for heat removal of the MEG Package.
The modules will be built in Norway in cooperation with other Norwegian sub-suppliers where EPTEC will coordinate engineering and production of the modules.
The contract comprises a Cooling Water Header Tank Package and Refrigeration Skid Package which consist of 3x50 % screw compressors with related condensers, evaporators, vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, dry coolers , valves and instrumentation. Cooling capacity is approx 270 kW, with refrigerant R-134a.
What makes this package special is that all components will be in EX execution according Australian Norms and Standards. The selection of sub-supplier therefore may be limited due to the meet the challenge of these specifications which are quite different from the European Norms. The extend of instrumentation in this package is also rather special, as there will be installed about 130 pressure and temperature transmitters as well as 250 manual and actuated pneumatic operated control valves.
For EPTEC this contract means a large step forward within the International Oil & Gas Industry, in where the company wants a fortification of its position as a supplier of special Cooling- and Refrigeration Packages.
